Project Two - Perspective - "The Balance"
For this project I went on a bit of a roller coaster. Beginning with the thinking skill of perspective I wanted to analyze the political spectrum but instead of left and right, I wanted to look at libertarian and authoritarian. As time moved on though my art portion and LA portion moved away from this idea. For my art portion I ended up focusing on balance, creating my piece named "B.I.T.A" for balance in the abstract. On my English portion I ended up taking Avery different approach. While I planned on writing an essay last minutes the plan changed. I wrote a manifesto discussing different thoughts and issues and then "solved" said problems as a sort of extremest. The point of which was to call out the foolishness that is our current political polarity and called people to action to unite as a people.
Art Portion
For my art portion I looked at balance. For the art portion I wanted to analyze the concept of balance in its purest form, and then represent it in the abstract. To begin I looked a little into the history of abstract from where it started to how it evolved. Then after looking at some more modern approaches I was ready to begin. To avoid the usual idea of a scale I simply chose a material to work with and began. I chose stones from a stream which I returned to for photos of the final piece take a naturalist approach as balance is found in nature as it is a law of life, everything must come to balance sooner or later. After time, persistence, and some playing around I ended up with my piece, named "B.I.T.A" for balance in the abstract.

English Portion
|
For my English portion I was all over the place. I started with the analysis of authoritarian and libertarian. I slowly researched each side ending up focusing on the division of the USA as a country. After beginning to write drafts for an essay the topic changed to focus on why the USA has become so divided. I changed my goal to writing a manifesto manifesto discussing different thoughts and issues and then "solved" said problems as a sort of extremest. The point of which was to call out the foolishness that is our current political polarity and called people to action to unite as a people.
